PROJECT ANNOUNCEMENT: BROWN SKIN IN AUTUMN™!

Black and Brown: Beauty, Transition and Complexity. We are Autumn!

Sample Concept Image developed via Midjourney Ai Art Generator.

Project Proposal:

This shoot is about celebrating Black and Brown identities in harmony with the beauty, transition, and complexity of autumn—a season of change and transformation. It reflects how identity is not static but ever-evolving, much like the seasons. Through this shoot, the aim is not only to highlight physical beauty but to convey the richness, diversity, and strength inherent within Black and Brown communities.

Creative Direction: The Black as Origin—Brown Skin in Autumn

"Within the Black, all things—good and bad, light and dark—exist. Creation begins where others see void."

Concept:

This project will explore the idea that just as autumn signifies transition, the concept of “The Black” represents both the unknown and the origin of all things. In this shoot, the changing landscape of autumn becomes a metaphor for the unseen depths within each person—layers of history, complexity, and identity that are both hidden and emerging. Through photography, we will showcase Black and Brown people as they exist not only in the world but within themselves, holding all possibilities: strength and vulnerability, tradition and innovation, presence and mystery.

This shoot is about reclamation. It’s about finding beauty in spaces of change and making visible the layers of identity that are often misunderstood or unseen.

Mood and Atmosphere:

The mood will balance both introspection and expression. The settings will reflect the layered nature of autumn—moments of stillness alongside movement, quiet reflection in shadowed spaces, and bold expression in bursts of light. The shoot should evoke feelings of calm, mystery, and transformation, capturing both who the subjects are now and who they are becoming.

Visual Tone:

Warm autumnal hues (rust, amber, ochre) combined with deeper tones (charcoal, mahogany, deep green). Contrast between light and shadow.

Vibe:

Thoughtful, layered, soulful. A blend of natural ease and intentional styling.

The Brown Skin in Autumn shoot is not just a celebration of seasonal beauty but a visual exploration of identity in transition. Inspired by the philosophy that within darkness reside all possibilities, the project embraces both the known and the unknown aspects of identity. It celebrates the beauty of Black and Brown people not just as they are today but as they are becoming—grounded in legacy, moving toward transformation, and empowered by the freedom to define their own stories.

CULTIVATING A NEW SUBSIDIARY PROJECT PLAN FOR THIS PROJECT; THE BLACK BEAUTY EXPERIENCE!

ART - DESIGN - PHOTOGRAPHY - BUSINESS - Ai - PROJECTS

We’re updating the F V K ™ to include the showcase and review of Beauty of Black Women. We believe that it has gotten lost—the idea and image of Black Women—in media and other spaces where Black Women like so many others have been pushed down in favor of other Ethnicities and Cultures. Our goal is to continue to showcase Beauty as well as the Sexiness and Sensual Allure of Black Women but with a specific targeting of Black and Brown Skin. While we show appreciation and respect to some others already within the limelight of public view, we’re also looking to showcase and appreciate others more local to our communities within the DC Area.

ADS for this project will be developed and posted to Craiglist.com and other associated sites soon.

SMARTPHONE PHOTOGRAPHY TIPS

Photography Tips: Capturing Stunning Shots with Your Smartphone

In today's digital age, almost everyone carries a powerful camera in their pocket – their smartphone. With the right techniques and a little creativity, you can capture breathtaking photos that rival those taken with professional cameras. In this blog post, we'll share some essential photography tips to help you elevate your smartphone photography game.

1. Clean Your Lens

It may sound simple, but it's often overlooked. The lens of your smartphone can accumulate fingerprints and smudges, affecting photo quality. Before you start shooting, wipe your lens clean with a microfiber cloth or lens cleaning solution to ensure clarity.

2. Use Natural Light

Good lighting is the foundation of great photography. Whenever possible, opt for natural light. Shoot during the golden hours—early morning or late afternoon—when the sunlight is soft and warm. Avoid harsh midday sunlight, as it can create harsh shadows.

3. Composition Matters

Pay attention to composition. Use the rule of thirds by dividing your frame into a 3x3 grid and placing your subject along these lines or at the intersections. Experiment with angles, leading lines, and framing to create visually appealing shots.

4. Focus and Exposure Control

Most smartphone cameras allow you to tap on the screen to set the focus and exposure point. Use this feature to ensure your subject is in focus and properly exposed. You can also lock the focus and exposure by pressing and holding on the screen.

5. Use HDR Mode

High Dynamic Range (HDR) mode is excellent for capturing scenes with a wide range of light and shadow. It combines multiple exposures to create a balanced image. Experiment with HDR mode in situations with challenging lighting.

6. Experiment with Apps

Expand your photography capabilities by exploring camera apps with manual settings. These apps allow you to adjust settings like ISO, shutter speed, and white balance, giving you more control over your shots.

7. Portrait Mode and Bokeh Effect

If your smartphone has a portrait mode, use it for stunning depth-of-field effects. It blurs the background, making your subject stand out. Experiment with this mode for portrait shots and close-ups.

8. Editing Tools

Editing can enhance your photos further. Use photo editing apps to adjust brightness, contrast, saturation, and sharpness. But remember, less is often more. Avoid excessive editing for a natural look.

9. Avoid Digital Zoom

Digital zoom can reduce image quality. Instead of zooming in, physically move closer to your subject. This will result in sharper, more detailed photos.

10. Practice and Patience

Like any skill, smartphone photography improves with practice. Take your time, experiment with different settings, and learn from your shots. Don't be afraid to take multiple photos of the same subject to find the best one.

With these tips in mind, you can take your smartphone photography to the next level. Remember that photography is not just about the equipment; it's about your creativity and how you see the world through your lens. So, grab your smartphone and start capturing stunning shots today.
