INSPIRED - PHOTOGRAPHY
It was stuff like this that was fueling my passion for photography. The art and the craft as was a major component of what was then hip-hop, music and a type of urban culture. Back in the day when Kanye West was just getting started, there just seemed to be this movement of creativity that would and could personify the urban Black experience.
While the music did something to and for me, it was the elements of creativity established around and out of being such a force for youth culture that really made an impression. Photography was a craft that I wanted to know. After reading and viewing—viewing and reading magazines such as The Source, VIBE and Black Enterprise, I just knew that attending The Art Institute of Washington was going to be the best thing for establishing and building a career in Photography.
I grew up in and out of the culture that produced some of the most impactful kinds of cultural content that would forever leave lasting impressions. Now that I’ve gotten to a place where I can indulge my passions, my work—my Art, Design and Photography—stands still influenced by this era—this genre that will never die.
