LOCAL ARTISTS OF THE BETHESDA, MD AREAS, WE WANT TO JOIN WITH YOU!

We’re looking for unique and inspiring creatives that are looking to continue making their mark on the Creative and Visual Arts worlds into the Future. Within the LIAM IAN CIRCLE, we’re looking to establish a foundation—a committee—of individuals who will be interested in further exploring the Arts within the local communities to help bolster the concept and idea that the Arts are fundamental to the development of following generations and communities of color, ethnicity and culture.

Positioned within the North Bethesda, Bethesda and Potomac areas of the Washington, DC suburbs, we have an opportunity to interact with and take advantage of all the creative works and activities of quality and substance that come out of this richly resourced region. Our goal is to fully engage those who have the resources to impact young creatives. We believe the future is dependent upon a few individuals to gently nudge things in a different direction.

THE BETHESDA ARTS FESTIVAL

LET THERE BE NO MISTAKE…

…the Bethesda Arts Festival is not a place for the faint of heart—you either come to spend some cash or be annoyed by those who seem to be know-it-all’s of the “Art” world.

All that can be said from a Creative of Color is that there are places where you’ll see who’s clearly clamoring for attention to pay the bills and who—most likely—doesn’t have either the capital or the relationships to be included.

The Bethesda Arts Festival seems to be a showy upscale snobby type of environment that does very little to be really diverse and inclusive of others unless you fit a specific profile. What we experienced was basically a follow-up to last years participants and products with most artists being Caucasian and notably obnoxious when it came down to discussing their work with certain interested parties.

While there was a lot of inspiration there provided by the many types of work, there was an apparent desire for diversity and more meaningfully cordial and welcoming individuals to inform and discuss their works. Defined as “the Washington, DC area’s premier outdoor fine arts festival”, yes, this is an event for a certain type. With that said, there are many things to appreciate especially as it operates within one of the nation’s most affluent and economically rich communities. Get a chance to strike up the right conversation and you might learn a lot…but those conversations might require a friend or two that are already within the “know”.

As a business local to the Bethesda area, we once had a goal of getting involved within such an organization but…I think we’ll keep to our small circle and see how things go into the future. Don’t get us wrong, the place has potential…but it seems the horses they ride stand a little too high to even believe.

STILL AN ARTIST AT HEART!

While there’s a lot of talk about Photography and sometimes Design work, there’s still that profound interest and passion for Art.

We’re spending time to develop other projects that encourage and reflect that passion for the visual arts that go beyond the use of a camera lens. We’re looking to engage that passion to bring forth products, concepts and ideas that reflect our mission and vision of Intelligence, Ethnicity and Innovation with the ever-progressive, fast-paced and changing world of the arts.

From pencil sketching to pen and ink detail drawing to oil painting, we’re developing projects to introduce products that reflect our interpretations for who we are within this world…and beyond. The African American experience is just one aspect of what and who we are but more the entry way to greater aspects of identity.

Sourcing our materials from PLAZA ART of Bethesda, Md, we’re gaining the materials to create masterful works of art…we hope.

Our canvas pieces will embody the spirit of modern societal influence, impressions and factors of life.
